Youtube's crackdown on crypto-tubers has drawn attention to blockchain based social media But...

But... Yes, it's a big BUT here.

In response to Binance founder's Tweet for moving to blockchain enabled censorship resistant social media, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin echoed the same that we should welcome experimentation in this area.

In this thread, dozens of blockchain based social media projects responded to show their presence. Well yea ...to whom are you telling? CZ, Buterin ...or crypto youtubers?!! Do you think these guys are living under a rock!

Everyone in this space knows about the presence of blockchain based social media platforms. Of course, there were several names which were new to me too. This field is seeing new projects everyday now. Who will get the attention?

Steem? Hardly a chance! Steem is perceived as the oldest experiment (and a failed one) in this field. Whatever it tries to improve, the ghost of its old image persists. People like to watch new experiments and pins their hope on brand new ideas ...which may turn revolutionary. Steem is no more a dark horse!

But who among the dozens of upcoming projects is gonna get more attention than Steem?

Well, Vitalik Buterin chose to sign up for beta platform of Voice.

So now, Steem's success depends more on Voice's failure 😜

Interestingly Brendan Blumer is already defensive with "we can't solve every problem on day one" 😛
