This is Why I Don't Use BRAVE Browser
Hello friends!
Some of you might have heard of GiveNation some time back. It was going to be a great fundraising dapp on EOS blockchain in the charity sector.
Funding platforms do not need any introduction. We all know of so many fundraising platforms on the internetr. Recently, several of these were built on different blockchain. There are many on Ethereum chain itself. Our own Steem chain has one called Fundition.
So do we really need another funding platform?
Well, when I came across the GiveyNation, I started to believe thee is lot more to be done in this field. I realized GiveNation is targeting a very important problem that choke the charity sector, namely transparency and accountability.
Most people are in doubt about the claims made by charity organizations or volunteer social workers. Even donors are not completely satisfies whether their funds were utilized as they were promised or not.
So far all other fund raising dapps capitalized on the high cost to donor as well as donee that many centralized fund raising platforms used to charge as a fee component. Non-custodian nature of funds was another issue that blockchain based dapps were capable of. But GiveyNation is a promising project that claims to offer much more than these.
Some f the very important issued that GiveyNation promises to address are:
1 Compliance and Transparency
2 Tracking and Tracing
3 Reduction of errors in Auditing and Payment Processing
4 Fraud / Security
5 Increased Trust
6 Real-Time feedback
7 Better Scalability
Well, most of these points are inherent property of a blockchain and riding on it any dapp can gain all these advantages. But what catches my fancy is its claim for tracking the funds throughout its journey to the end user with the help of "evidence based smart contract". It also say that whole money flow process will be digitally documented live 24/7.
Unfortunately, I haven't heard any update on this project for a long time. Their official Steem account @giveynation doesn't carry any update on this project for last 9 months. Their Twitter handle has no update for last 8 months. Last video on their YouTube channel was some 7 months ago. Also, I don't notice any activity on their GitHub account too.
All these implies that this project is dead or had been a victim of long bear market. They had announced a 1:1 airdrop of their EOS tokens to all EOS holders earlier. But didn't get to see any update on it so far!
I also checked the website Givey.com which is functional but it's not on a blockchain. I don't know whether this website is related to GiveyNation in any way but somewhere I had seen that a link to it was provided in their blog last year.
But since StateoftheDapps that ranks several popular dapps on multiple blockchains updated GiveyNation dapp recently, my hope on this project again got a new life. According to the data available on StateoftheDapps, this Dapp was submitted on 23rd of January, 2019. But I'm yet to see any major update from this team.'
If I had to rate this project out of 5, I'll give them 2 stars due to lack of communication and long delay and uncertainty in its execution.
