This is Why I Don't Use BRAVE Browser
Hello friends!!
With BTC prices close to $14,000 excitement in the crypto community is at its peak. But a common complaint among them is that all alt coins are at their worst when evaluated vis-a-vis BTC pairing. So here I'm talking about how to invest in STEEM at 87% below its market price. Sounds unrealistic?
Well, yesterday I was talking about some Steem Engine tokens. Steem Engine (SE) platform has made launching your tokens so easy that new tokens are being launched every other day. With new tokens, we're witnessing interesting innovations in the tokenized economy on Steem platform.
Recently, a large and established Steem community viz. Qurator came up with its own token "Q" on SE. This is an interesting token which is being offered against the 50% curation rewards of @qurator account. It's curation rewards are being distributed daily to all Q holders.
Current token supply is only 10,000 (out of maximum possible 100K). Tokens are available for purchase at the rate of 1 STEEM per Q on SE platform. According to Qurator, a minimum daily reward of 0.01 STEEM is guaranteed per Q token. However due to low circulating supply of Q or higher curation rewards, it could be higher than that. E.g. I bought 100 Q tokens today and withing hours I recieved about 0.20 STEEM as my daily curation reward.
@qurator account has an effective SP of 154,935. 50% of this means 77468 for which curaton rewards will be distributed to 10000 Q tokens. Thus effectively 1 Q token is earning curation rewards for 7.75 SP! Thus when you buy 1 Q token, you're virtually buying 7.75 SP i.e. for a price of 1 STEEM, a reward of 7.75 STEEM ...a mind-boggling 87% lower than market price of STEEM!!!
What else you will invest in STEEM for if not earning regular rewards and value appreciation? Q offers more than that.
What does Q offers:
So you can trade Q any day on SE as per your need and make an exit or continue earning curation rewards as long as you wish.
Imagine what will happen when EIP (Economic Improvement Proposal) of HF-21 goes through with a 50-50 author-curator reward split? It will give a huge jump to curation rewards. May be, Qurator will come up with some policy changes at that point for its delegators. But for now, it appears like all curation rewards will be distributed to Q holders.
Risk Involved:
However there is a risk to this proposition. The biggest risk I see is that @qurator has less than 10K SP of its own. All other SP is delegated to it. But thankfully there ain't many large delegators and all delegations are supported by the community members. So they ain't going to disappear overnight. But in the eventuality of all delegation being taken off, you're left with curation reward of less than 5K SP to be shared among 10K Q tokens. But this is again a hypothetical case and I don't think it's ever going to happen.
That's why I invested in Q tokens today to see how it works I intend to invest more in it. The idea of liquidity of investment interests me the most. You can never curate with liquid STEEM but you can do that with Q! That's how tokenization with liquid market works!
However, Qurator does need to tinker its upvote timing to optimize the curation rewards as I see there is a lot of scope in it. Once curation rewards are optimized, I foresee Q token value to appreciate many folds than the current levels. But it depends on their community bot's priority. IMHO, instead of upvoting every 24 hours, bot should allow a time range of say 20 to 24 hours for daily posts and upvote those posts within 15 minutes. If no post is created in that time range then the bot can look for any old posts to deliver the upvote.
There are other similar tokens too. E.g. today, I also purchased one called MAPX. However I don't find it as attractive as Q but in case you're interested to know more about it, head on to this post.
