Happy B'day Ahmedabad!

This 26^th February, Ahmedabad is celebrating its 608^th birth anniversary.

Ahmedabad is the India's first UNESCO World Heritage City.

With just 250 km away, it's the closest big city from my place. Located on the banks of the Sabarmati River, Ahmedabad is the 5^th most populous city of India and the largest city and former state capital of Gujarat.

The earliest settlement in and around Ahmedabad is recorded to be around 12^th century during Chaulukya dynasty.. The present city was founded on 26 February 1411 by Ahmed Shah I of Gujarat Sultanate and was declared as its new capital.

With legends like Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel, Ahmedabad became the centre stage of Indian Independence movement.

To celebrate the birthday of the city, Ahmedabad based Creative Yatra is organizing a creativity contest on Instagram. Simply Frame - Capture- Click- Post some original visual on Instagram to celebrate Ahmedabad. Here are the contest details in case you wish to take part:
