This is Why I Don't Use BRAVE Browser
Last year, when Indian cricket team captain turned Virat Kohli vegan, it was expected that he will influence many of his fans. But I never expected that he could convince Captain Fantastic Sunil Chhetri to go vegan too!
Star footballer Sunil Chhetri is credited to have scored highest number of goals in international football matches after Cristiano Ronaldo among all active players. He has captained both Indian national team as well as Bengaluru FC in Indian Super League. Recently, he was also named 'Asian Icon' by AFC.
It's still a mystery to me as why non-vegans derive pleasure in making fun of vegans and vegan dishes!
However, here Chhetri wasn't aware that Kohli was now a vegan. So Kohli told him about it and explained the secrets of a plant-based diet. It didin't take much time for Chhetri to realize the importance of a plant-based diet.
Chhetri's diet went completely plant-based about a couple of months back. But he honestly clarifies that he adheres to the vegan diet because of its advantages to his fitness and health and not for his love for animals.
Perhaps he thinks, people may make fun of him if he says he is now vegan for the animals. There is a popular Hindi idiom:
Well, this statement itself is a proof of his compassion. A person doesn't remain same all his / her life. He / she changes every moment. Nothing is permanent in this world. The fact is, almost all vegans in this world were flesh-eaters at some point. But that doesn't mean one cant make a change.
We are living in the wonderful times when captains of popular Indian games like cricket and football have gone vegan for the sake of their own fitness. Most non-vegans had this misconception that vegan diet is incomplete and unhealthy. Therefore, it's a great boost to veganism in India when popular sports persons are setting up example before their fans after Bollywood stars,
Tomorrow Mumbai is hosting The Ahimsa Fest where I expect many vegans from all walks of life. I hope, celebrated vegan mountaineer Kuntal Joisher too will be present there. Although I haven't checked up with his schedule; since I received an invite from him today for this event, I'm assuming that he too will be present there. So if you're at Mumbai, don't miss this opportunity to connect with many amazing vegan personalities there and have a wonderful time at the fest.
